Used to adapt female pipe threads to CPVC tubing in cold water applications only. Utilize the recommended transition unions, where hot water or changing water temperatures are likely to be encountered. PTFE thread tape is the accepted method of sealing pipe threads on CPVC fittings. Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) has proven to be an excellent material for hot corrosive liquids, hot and cold water distribution, and similar applications above the temperature range of PVC.
